As a result of this economic climate, Redwood Coast Press must enter a hiatus. All entries from the 2011 competition are still in consideration. If you would like to withdraw an entry please do send an email to redwoodcoastpresssubmissions@gmail.com. We are hoping to resume publication in 2012.
In 2010 Redwood Coast Press was delighted to announce that Then's Elsewhere, by California poet Rebekah Edwards, is now available through Small Press Distribution. Toronto poet Angela Szczepaniak was the editor for the press on this collection.
Listen to Rebekah's 2009 Hollaway reading here (don't let the the clip title "Cyrus Console" confuse you. Rebekah is the first reader.)
Redwood Coast Press was first established in 1994 to publish Andrea Adolph's first book of poetry, Improv. In 1995 we published bite to eat place. This book of poetry and poetic prose, integrating the topic of food, used work from artists as well known as Margaret Atwood, Michael Ondaatje, Brenda Hillman, Sandra McPherson, and Diana O'Hehir, and writers so new that their first published works appeared with us.
We have an eye for new talent here. Many of our bite to eat place emerging writers, such as Sylvia Legris, Rosemary Sullivan, and George Elliot Clarke, have gone on to win significant national and international awards. We believe that Redwood Coast Press will afford currently emerging writers the possibility to establish their poetry in the world through our "New Poet Series."
We pay royalties of 10%.
Small Press Distribution carries our books.
Redwood Coast Press publishes first books of poetry.
We are currently closed for submissions, and hope to invite submissions again in 2012.
